CLINICAL SUPERVISION

BigTree Behavioral Health provides individual and group clinical supervision for Licensed Professional Counselor Associates registered with the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists (OBLPCT).

Clinical Supervision is a crucial component of a counselor’s professional development and ongoing training. Our process involves a licensed and experienced supervisor guiding and overseeing the work of the associate, ensuring that they adhere to ethical standards and best practices in the field. The supervisor provides a safe space for the associate to discuss and reflect on their client cases, offering constructive feedback, mentorship, and support.

We believe quality clinical supervision is comprehensive and an integral part of a counselor’s continued growth and learning. Topics covered will include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing personal style and approach

  • Ongoing training and professional development

  • Ethics and legal issues

  • Oregon administrative rules

  • A variety of theoretical models/approaches

  • Transference/Counter-transference

  • Cross-cultural and multicultural competence

  • Ongoing evaluation

  • Documentation and Billing

  • Research

BigTree’s Clinical Supervisors view supervision as a collaborative relationship aimed to enhance the associate's clinical skills, deepen their theoretical understanding, and promote self-awareness. Through regular meetings and case discussions, clinical supervision fosters a dynamic learning environment, ultimately contributing to the growth and competence of the counselor associate in their therapeutic practice.
